Speed Limiting Device
Neoteric Digital Solutions Pvt. Ltd. is Speed Limiting Device manufacturer in Delhi (NCR), India. This device, also known as Speed Governor, is used to limit the maximum speed of a vehicle.
The device is approved by Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI), Pune under brand name Dewan Autotech and is fit for installation in commercial vehicles in many states.
How does Speed Limiting Device work?
Speed Limiting Devices are available in different designs by different manufacturers. However at Neoteric Digital Solutions, we have two designs that have been approved by ARAI, Pune.:
- Solenoid control: In this design, a solenoid is installed in the diesel path of the engine. By controlling the amount of diesel that reaches the engine, one can control speed of the vehicle. This design is low cost but can only be used for diesel vehicles.
- Pedal control: In this design, the speed limiting device is attached in parallel to the accelerator pedal of the vehicle. When the set speed of the vehicle is reached, the pedal is disconnected. Even if the driver keeps pressing the pedal, the vehicle speed will not increase. When the lower limit of the set speed is reached, the pedal is re-engaged. Thus a constant maximum speed is maintained. This design can be used on diesel, petrol, CNG, LPG or any other fuel type vehicle.
Can the speed limiting device be tampered?
The speed limiting device manufactured by Neoteric Digital Solutions is tamper proof. If any tampering is detected, the device enters into a limp mode in which the vehicle will move very slowly (< 20kmph). The set speed can be programmed only by a designated programmer, also manufactured by Neoteric Digital Solution. Thus nobody can tamper or change the set speed of the vehicle.
Every part is sealed after installation and stamped. Cutting or breaking of seals is illegal and one can resort to legal action if such activity is detected.
