What is Digital Servo Controller?

Digital Servo Controller is a micro-controller based system that monitors various parameters like input voltage, output voltage, frequency and load current while maintaining output voltage in the range set by the user. This product is intented to be used by servo manufacturers as a control system for their voltage regulators based on servo motors.

How does Digital Servo Controller work?

Digital Servo Controller continuously monitors the output voltage of the servo voltage stablizer. The output voltage that needs to be maintained can be set to a specified value by the user. If the voltage becomes lower than the specified value, then the servo controller immediately corrects this. This it does by turning on the servo motor attached to the variac of the servo voltage stabilizer. When the desired voltage is reached, the motor is turned off immediately.

On the other hand, if the voltage becomes higher than the specified value, then the servo controller corrects this by turning the motor in the other direction again bringing back the voltage in range.

How to install?

The digital servo controller provides direct connections to rotate the servo motor without the need for any extra circuitry. Direct connection points are provided to connect input voltage, output voltage, load current, contactor hold, servo motor rotation etc. The installation is very simple and direct.

Why should I prefer Digital Servo Controller?

Digital servo control is perhaps the cheapest and easiest way to control your servo voltage stabilizer. It is designed to be used by servo voltage stabilizer manufacturer as a direct replacement to existing analog based technologies. Some of the benefits are as follows:

  1. Available for 96x96 mm and 72x72 mm cut outs. This means that existing boxes dont have to be replaced and the controller can be dropped in as is in the cutout for voltage / current meters
  2. All settings can be done from the front panel using push buttons. The settings will never drift over time as is the case in analog systems. No pot-meters to set.
  3. All settings are password protected. This means unauthorized persons will not be able to make changes to the controller.
  4. No need to do wiring to display alarms / failures etc. LEDs on the front panel and the 7-segment display will do that.
  5. The system has a manual mode to test the servo controller motor with the convenience of just pressing a few buttons on the front panel. No need to do additional wiring for manual mode.
